It's Not Them, It's You Sis: Dealing with Rejection

“Giiiirl can you believe it? How dare Derrick not text back! He’s been on my line HEAVY all week, and now that I “put it on him” last night  he doesn’t want to text back!? Aw naw, call Keisha we ‘bout to pull up!

We’ve all been rejected before. I’ve heard “no” so many times, I had to check my birth certificate to make sure it wasn’t my middle name. Below are truths I had to tell myself to change how I viewed rejection; I believe they will be of use to you as well.

#1: You’re Thirsty

Ouch! That was a hard pill to swallow, but at TalkswithMegan we keep it one thousand. You’re being rejected, because you believe that you need the opportunity more than the opportunity needs you. Practice articulating what you bring to the table, and notice how many doors begin to open. If you need help with this, check out my latest book, “Clean Mirrors.

#2: Even Beyonce isn’t Liked by Everyone

Now, I assume if you are reading this that you too are a Beyonce fan; if not, give me a minute to gasp, and get my life all the way together and pray for your deliverance… Now, let’s talk. Some people believe that she’s not even talented, but her 20+ Grammys, and countless MTV Music, Billboard Music, and BET awards say otherwise. Remember: just because a select few can’t see your value doesn’t mean that it’s not there.

#3: It’s Not Really Rejection

Wait, What? Yep, you read that right. We’ve heard this time and time again, “It’s God’s protection.” If we are being honest, we are happy some things did not turn out the way we had planned. If you are able to articulate what you bring to the table, and you adopt a hopeful attitude about life and something still doesn’t go your way, just know, you’ve been protected.

Thank you so much for reading. If you’ve found this  helpful please share it so that your friends will be blessed as well. We’ll talk soon!
